SCRIBING FOR SOLDIERS
I began "Scribing for Soliders" in 2007 while helping the Volunteer Senior Service Agency of Mahoning County. Together we decided to start a letter writing campaign to our troops as a way of letting them know we miss them, we appreciate what they are doing for us and to thank them.
This year I would like to generate over 1000 letters, notes, pictures or post cards! Our troops love getting mail and for some it's the closest thing to "home" they get. I decided to add this page for those of you who would like to drop a quick line to one of our service members.
When you have completed your letter, click on "SUBMIT" and your message will be sent to me.
I will print it out and it will be delivered on or around 9/11 to military personnel who will send them to our troops. Your phone number is NOT required. I do suggest putting your address at the bottom of your message. You may get a letter back from a soldier!
I'm hoping to get all the area schools to participate in this as well, so please pass this along to your teachers. Maybe they will have the class do it as an activity for Constitution Week!
I will also have post cards available at both Freedom Walks, the poker run and cornhole tournament where you can send a soldier a note!
All letters, cards, etc. will be delivered at the same time.
If you need your letters picked up, please contact me below:
